Admissions Requirements & Review Process
Graduate Degree Requirements:
Admission to the M.A. and M.F.A. program requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least a 2.50 (on a 4.00 scale) grade point average in last 60 hours of undergraduate course work.
International students whose first language is not English should take the TOEFL examination to demonstrate proficiency in written as well as spoken English. See also International Student Applications.
Application Requirements:
Official transcripts, two letters of recommendation, resume, a 1,000-word essay on the applicant’s commitment to pursuing graduate study in the program, and work samples are submitted with the application. After SFI receives all required application materials, including letters of recommendation and the student essay, these materials are reviewed by our admissions representative to determine the applicant's suitability for the graduate degree program.
