Heard On The Lot:

Free Screenwriting Workshop - The First Ten Pages

The opening pages of a screenplay are like a blind date: first impressions really do count! A writer has one chance to hook the reader of a script and pull them into a story, and it happens in the first ten pages. Otherwise the script is probably doomed to the rejection pile. This hour-and-a-half workshop provides a concise overview of the creative elements in a powerful script opening that are absolutely necessary to draw readers into the world you’ve created. We’ll also examine the beginning pages of several scripts and view film clips.
