Heard On The Lot:

The prospect of working long, tiring hours, but being able to see at the end the creation I've constructed with my crew is something well worth the work for me. Whether it's documentary or fiction, you feel as though you're giving birth to something.
You feel proud for how far your film has come, you've prepared it; done the best you can for it, and now it's time to send it off into the world to be judged and criticized.

Intro to Documentary Filmmaking

DOC-A: Saturday, March 10, 2012
10am-4pm
Instructor: Tim O'Hara
Tuition: $145.00 - 6 Clock Hrs.

This one-day workshop gives an overview of documentary filmmaking from choosing a topic through distribution. The fundamental tools of research, planning, story development, and interview techniques are discussed, along with the technical considerations of camera, lighting, and sound. The workshop concludes with a discussion of the elements necessary to get a project off the ground; fundraising, grant-writing and budgeting, and exploration of marketing and distribution opportunities for the documentary film.
