LA Film Internship Update
Just heard from Emily Williams and Erin Levine - two students who moved to LA after graduation and wanted to let me know about their internships:
Hi Chris!
I just finished my internship on Thursday. I absolutely loved Maguire Entertainment. I loved working in a production company's office and working close to producers. They had me doing regular intern stuff like running errands, reading scripts, organizing etc. However, I was lucky enough to be able to split my time between that office and the editing room and also be a personal assistant to the director of the movie that they are currently working on.
So, I got to know the people in the editing department and got to work closely with the director and get to know her as well. Everyone was so nice and I felt so welcomed by everyone. they were enthusiastic about helping me find a job in the future and I know that they are all keeping their eyes open for a job opening for me. They were so sad to have me go but it felt so good to be so appreciated. I really felt like an integral part of the office. I am now looking for a job as a producer's assistant or maybe an assistant job at a talent agency. I have decided that I would like to produce and being an assistant is a great way to start on that road. I am waiting to talk to Tobey Maguire this week and see if he has a job offer for me. If not, then I will take the next month or so and seriously hunt around for someone who has an empty desk in need of an assistant. I felt like Maguire Entertainment was a great starting point for me because the office was small enough to feel like I could contribute and get to know everyone. I had a great time and am looking forward to the next step! Thank you so much again for connecting me to them!

I'm really glad I am interning with Exclusive Media. They are professional but the atmosphere is pretty informal. They have me reading a lot more scripts and writing coverage. Yesterday, everybody in the office gathered in the conference room to watch a new cut of a trailer. It was cool to see everybody in one room. I was the only intern there and I just felt like part of the family.
